A True Chocolate Gem
Last month a dear friend asked me to check out Vosges and blog about it. She loves Vosges–raving over their chocolate truffles for the past few years. As luck would have it, I was invited to a Yelp chocolate tasting event at the Vosges Haut-Chocolat boutique shop in Beverly Hills. Being the good friend that I am, I couldn’t pass up on an opportunity to eat chocolate! I attended the tasting last week and became instantly smitten by the classic décor, beautifully painted vaulted ceiling, smiling faces, tantalizing display cases, and the real star of the show, the Vosges chocolate (and A LOT of it). I felt like a kid in a candy store, literally!
Their retail concept and charming ambiance take the chocolate experience up a deliciously sweet level. At the Yelp event, people were buzzing over the artfully served chocolate in its various forms, from white and milk chocolate shots, chocolate chip cookies, brownies with toffee pieces, truffles galore, hot cocoa, and my favorite of the evening, the chocolate covered caramel bacon pops… The caramel had a semi-soft texture not too soft or too chewy, covered in chocolate creaminess, and crisp bacon on a stick. Bacon goes with just about anything these days, and this delight is no exception with the perfect combination of salty and sweet! The approachable employees, and their personable customer service was the icing on the cake. If I had a rating system, I’d give my overall experience at Vosges a Triple D – Divine, Decadent, and Dreamy.
If you or someone you love is fond of chocolate, try Vosges. They offer a little something to fit any budget, and a wide selection of chocolates to entertain any palate. They also have various truffles from their Exotic and Aztec collection, and holiday truffles, peanut butter chocolates, cocoa couture, and much more. If you are unsure what to get, the staff are very helpful and friendly! The beautiful deep purple packaging is ideal for gifts from smaller sets of truffles to large gift party platters. If you don’t live in driving distance to a Vosges Haut-Chocolat shop, you can order online or find their candy bars at Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, or other specialty stores. For the more adventurous types, there are candy bars with unexpected ingredients like carrot, chili peppers, or Indian curry.
Thanks to my friend and the tasting event, I’m sold! Move over Godiva, Vosges is blossoming with high quality, top shelf chocolates, and beyond! Katrina Markoff, Founder is opening a Chocolate Temple in Chicago next year. Additionally, Katrina has a partnership in Belize growing 3,000 acres of cacao where she will offer a course on creating your own chocolate bar.
